Over the past week, some readers have reported an Active Directory discovery with Event ID 1837.
Information about who, where and when is very important for a helpful administrator to have complete information about all the activities happening in their Active Directory. This helps it detect any desired/unwanted activity. ADAudit Plus supports the owner with this information in development reports. Ensure that critical network resources such as the most important domain controllers are checked, monitored, and reported in real time with all information about AD objects – users, groups, GPOs, computers, OUs, DNS, schemas, and configuration changes from more than 200 detailed GUI reports and informational incident alerts.
I want to move the OP role from Windows 2003 R2 x86 to Windows Server 2008 using SP1 x86
I am trying to complete both steps completely blackFrom GUI or ntdsutil , also failed
this event viewer message and
Failed to transfer the general operations master role represented by the following object.
Current Operations Correct in Role:
CN=NTDS Settings,CN=WIN2K3 , CN= Server,CN=Default First Site Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=Kudos,DC=com
Suggested primary role for operations:
Settings,CN=WIN2K8MEM1,CN=Server, CN=Default FirstSiteName,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=Kudos,DC=com cn=ntds
Event ID: 1837 < br>
I try 4 roles, or it succeeds, but the farm owner fails.
I can ping using the FQDN. Why should I confiscate the server myself?
Finally, I delegate 4 responsibilities to the ADC and dcpromo /forceremoval here at DC. .Had to use ntdsutil to maintain the master schema, finally clean up the metadata on top of that.
Thanks to everyone who has contributedSupports..
