  • I have a windows laptop. And I didn’t know where Windows Vista was no longer supported, to the point that now that I’ve rolled back my laptop or tablet to 2008, I’m kind of saying this laptop will work better.

I’m trying to download updates for Windows Vista, but I’m only getting errors, 0xc8000247, code 80072EFE, etc.

I’m desperate in the morning guys. I like this look and want to keep Windows in this build.

To be honest, I’m really dumb at these things, can anyone help me?

  • You may have to install each of the updates by downloading them manually…which will take forever

In addition to John_C21’s instructions for self-installing Service Pack 1 (February 2008 – .) and Service Pack 2 (dated May 2009) there is a known deployment with Vista SP2 where Windows updates are blocked at the start of updates. .Phase” as soon as SP2 is actually applied.

I’ll wait for a response from Imakri. I found a lot of links to you that see the 0x80000ffff issue, but Microsoft has looked at the pages below.

Instead of fighting Vista and its updates, you can install an alternative operating system, enjoy Linux if the computer is for things like e-mail, web browsing or online shopping, and no mission expenses require the corresponding Windows programs. The distribution you install is probably CPU and RAM dependent. You’ll probably have fewer problems updating, and since Ubuntu malware is virtually non-existent, you won’t have to worry about delivering infected files.

What brand and model of laptop and how much RAM do you have?

    Hey selfvista:

In addition to John_C21’s instructions about the possible application of the packageUpdate 1 (dated February 2008) and Service Pack 2 (dated May 2009) had an issue with Vista SP2 due to Windows updates on the original “After Check”. for Updates…Phase” after applying the Multiple Service Pack (SP2).

Thanks, I checked and tried to install the versions but only got errors. I’m stuck in SP1 and can’t download SP2. First I disabled all the security features of a good laptop like firewall, antivirus etc, other automatic updates etc and the location gave me errors too…

Please note that MS Office 2010, MS Office 2007, and this SP3 Compatibility Update for MS Office run the same Windows Update holdouts on SP2 computers, and currently there are additional “speed up” fixes mentioned in this VistaForums thread if the customer has one MS Office suite. products installed on their own computer.
